JOHANNESBURG - The Proteas have been dealt a blow ahead of their three-match One Day International series against West Indies.
All-rounder Wiaan Mulder has been ruled out due to a left-side strain.
The 25-year-old experienced discomfort during the second Test at the Wanderers Stadium.
The subsequent scans revealed a grade one strain which ultimately means the Lions star will be sidelined.
Wayne Parnell has been named as Mulder's replacement with Tabraiz Shamsi also added to the squad for the injured Keshav Maharaj.
The first ODI is on Thursday at Buffalo Park in East London.
