WINDHOEK - Jordan Hermann scored 150 on Wednesday in his one-day international debut for South Africa, which beat Namibia by 99 runs in a rain-shortened first ODI between the countries.
Opener Hermann and Tony de Zorzi put on 190 for the second wicket in Windhoek and the visitors posted 348-6 off 50 overs after being put in to bat.
Rain forced two interruptions to the Namibia reply and, set 262 in 31 overs to win under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method, they could only reach 162-8.
It has been a memorable four days for left-hand batter Hermann, whose career-best Twenty20 knock of 53 on Sunday helped South Africa win a tri-series final against Zimbabwe in Namibia.
After fellow opener Connor Esterhuizen fell for 10, Hermann and De Zorzi tormented the Namibian bowlers at one of the venues for the 2027 ODI Men's Cricket World Cup.
Hermann faced 126 deliveries and hit three sixes and 17 fours. The 72 runs of De Zorzi included a six and seven fours.
A soft, lofted shot by Hermann off South Africa-born quick Ruben Trumpelmann proved his undoing as Louren Steenkamp took a catch at extra cover.
De Zorzi was trapped leg before by Gerhard Erasmus after a long appeal and an even longer wait before the umpire raised his finger.
After a 51-run first wicket stand between Malan Kruger (34) and Alexander Busing-Volschenk (15), Namibia battled with spinner Prenelan Subrayen (4-29) inflicting most damage.
