JOHANNESBURG - The Springbok Women’s Sevens side has a vacancy for a new coach.
Paul Delport has resigned.
SA Rugby president Mark Alexander has thanked the coach.
His departure comes after the conclusion of the Rugby World Cup Sevens in Cape Town last month, which saw the Bok Women finishing fourteenth.
Delport guided the team in the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series tournaments and led them in two Rugby World Cup Sevens and two Commonwealth Games.
He helped South Africa clinch the Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens Cup on three occasions.
He handed in his resignation just after the World Cup, saying it's been a privilege coaching the team.
