GLASGOW - Pieter Coetze has underlined his dominance in the pool, claiming a second gold medal at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
The South African stormed to victory in the men's 200m backstroke, setting a new Games record of 1:54.22.
England's Oliver Morgan took silver in 1:56.44 seconds, while Luke Greenbank claimed bronze in 1:56.58 seconds.
Coetze has now collected three medals in Glasgow—two gold and one bronze.
Aimee Canny added to Team SA's tally with silver in the women's 100m breaststroke.
Scotland's Angharad Evans struck gold on home soil, while Australia's Sienna Toohey finished third.
Olivia Nel also reached the podium, securing bronze in the women's 100m backstroke to take South Africa's bronze tally to four.
Team SA has now won nine medals, all from swimming—three gold, two silver and four bronze.
