Pitso targets 2027 Afcon

JOHANNESBURG - Pitso Mosimane is not confused about what awaits him in the Bafana Bafana hot seat.

The decorated coach returns after 14 years, with his immediate focus on qualifying for the 2027 AFCON in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

Mosimane succeeds Hugo Broos, who guided Bafana to two successive AFCON tournaments and a bronze medal at the 2023 edition in Ivory Coast.

Jingles earned four caps and scored a solitary goal in his career as a national team player.

It's his third stint with the 1996 African champions, having been an interim coach back in 2007.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns tactician was at the helm of South Africa after the 2010 World Cup.

He was dismissed after failing to qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
