MELBOURNE - South Africa were dismissed for 189 on the opening day of the second Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Monday with Cameron Green taking a career-best 5-27.
After slumping to 67-5, Kyle Verreynne and Marco Jansen launched a stirring fightback in a gutsy 112-run stand.
But once they departed within the space of three Green deliveries, for 52 and 59 respectively, the tail collapsed.
Australia won the first match in the three-Test series by six wickets within two days in Brisbane.
