JOHANNESBURG - Athletics South Africa has confirmed that the men's 4x100m relay team will have the opportunity to re-run their race on Sunday.
South Africa failed to finish Saturday's semi-final heat after being impeded by Italian sprinter Marcell Jacobs.
The South Africans will set off in lane 6, just as they did, but will be running alone around the Tokyo track.
Should the team set a time quicker than that of the slowest qualifier of their ill-fated heat, Mzansi will be contesting for a medal in Sunday's final.
