SAFA launches probe after gunshots fired at ABC Motesepe playoff

PIETERMARITZBURG - SAFA is condemning hooliganism and thuggery following the ABC Motsepe National playoffs.

Chaotic scenes took place at the end of the semi-final between Umsinga United and Orbit College.

Angry fans stormed the pitch of the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg.

Gunshots also rang out in the chaos, with some saying it was a near-fatal incident.

In a viral video, security clashed with those believed to be Umsinga United supporters.

Umsinga had suffered a 1-0 defeat to Orbit College.

SAFA is promising to bring the perpetrators to book and have launched a full investigation.
