JOHANNESBURG - The South African Football Association has broken its silence on the VAR matter, after Sport Minister Gayton McKenzie expressed frustration over the delays.
McKenzie has demanded that SAFA return millions in state funding after the football association failed to roll out the VAR system.

In response, SAFA clarified that the R20 million allocation remains untouched and in a separate bank account.
The association has since been given a 21-day extension to conclude the outstanding processes and submit a comprehensive report on the project.
SAFA has maintained its commitment to ensuring VAR is implemented in a manner that is transparent and financially responsible.
