Nabil Abdool (SuperSport) continued his remarkable unbeaten run, winning both races to make it 10 victories from 10 starts. He also set a new GR Cup lap record in qualifying with a 1:10.593.

Craig Nicholson (News24 Motoring) endured a difficult qualifying session after accidentally switching his GR Corolla into automatic mode. He qualified third in his class and finished third in Race 1 before recovering strongly to second in Race 2.

Brandon Jacobs, sharing the Khulekani on Wheels and Kumbi-M on Cars entry, enjoyed his best weekend of the season. He finished second in Race 1 and third in Race 2, securing second overall for the round, an impressive result in only his third race in the category.

Tayedza Mbiri (AutoTrader) finished behind Nicholson in Race 2, with Nicholson moving ahead of him during the race.

eNCA's Justin Ford also competed in the GR Cup Media Challenge and featured in the midfield battles at Aldo Scribante. The weekend saw the media drivers competing closely on a circuit that produced some of the tightest racing of the season.

Naresh Maharaj (The Witness/Algoa FM) was classified sixth in both races after finishing a lap down.

The GR Cup Media Challenge was headlined by the intense battle between Abdool and Devon Scott. Although Scott competes in the separate Dealer Challenge, he was right on Abdool's pace throughout the weekend. The pair were separated by just 0.011 seconds in qualifying, while Abdool edged Scott by only 0.062 seconds in a dramatic final-lap battle in Race 2.

Dealer Challenge

Devon Scott (GR Driving Academy) dominated the Dealer Challenge with a double victory, while Werner Venter and Theo Brits finished second and third respectively in both races. Scott's results moved him to within two points of the championship lead, with two rounds remaining.
