JOHANNESBURG - The Kay Motsepe Schools Championship Finals are showcasing some of South Africa's brightest young football talent.
But former Bafana Bafana player Surprise Moriri said more needs to be done to strengthen grassroots structures.
This, he said, includes creating a clear pathway from junior football to the professional game and national team.

This follows Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane’s call for football to learn from rugby and cricket by building a stronger school-based development system.
For the former internationals, competitions like the Kay Motsepe Schools Championship can help uncover the next generation of talent.
But they said a sustainable development pathway is needed to ensure that talent is nurtured and reaches the highest level.
