DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Thami Ntuli, has launched the province's Safety Month and Festive Season Safety Plan.
Ntuli also announced the deployment of more than 24,000 law enforcement and emergency personnel.
The province needs all the law enforcement it can get, as it seeks to tackle the growing problem of older men impregnating young girls.
Ntuli previosly lambasted those responsible for the over 26,000 girls aged 10 to 19 who fell pregnant in KZN last year.
He described the situation as a “threat” to society.
