JOHANNESBURG - The Electoral Commission has welcomed this week's judgment by the Constitutional Court, clarifying challenges to the Electoral Amendment Act.
The Commission says it has provided them with certainty, and they can now go-ahead with preparations for the 2024 general elections.
They say they've always been of the view that the distribution of seats of the National Assembly between the compensatory tier and the regional tier was rational and therefore, satisfied the constitutional requirement for general proportionality.
