THOHOYANDOU - On December 16, South Africans are commemorate Reconciliation Day, with the official event taking place in Limpopo.

But are we really reconciled and has the country made any strides since the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in 1996?

Polls show that South Africans are gradually losing trust in leadership and public institutions.

The inequality gap, unemployment and poverty continue to widen. However some South Africans are optimistic and believe things will change.
