CAPE TOWN - The city of Cape Town says it isn't opposed to electrifying informal settlements, but only within the law and with necessary approval.
In the previous financial year, it successfully supplied electricity to more than two thousand informal houses across the metro.
It's now confiscated two truckloads of stolen cables used for illegal connections in Oasis Farm and the Siqala areas.
Residents from these affected communities say they'll continue connecting themselves as authorities aren’t supplying them with electricity.
