WATCH | Gauteng SOPA | Opposition parties point to crime stats

JOHANNESBURG - Some opposition parties have described Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi’s State of the Province Address as another speech filled with empty promises.

Political parties, including the Democratic Alliance and Freedom Front Plus, say the address is out of touch with reality.

Lesufi has hailed crime prevention wardens - known as Amapanyaza – as the ‘Heroes’ fighting crime.

He's also revealed the wardens will be appointed permanently.

However, some say Gauteng’s crime stats tell a different story.
