Activists urge undocumented migrants to leave SA

BENONI - Benoni residents are protesting in the streets over what they describe as an influx of foreign nationals to the area.

They want those living in the country illegally to leave by the end of the month.

Activist Rose Kgabale said they do not want any violence.

"We're not promoting any violence. We're not instigating any violence, but we are asking them nicely to please leave our country. There's a lot that is happening.

"Our health institutions are in a dire state. We don't get proper health facilities because of them. Our hospitals are always full because of undocumented illegal foreigners. So we are asking them to nicely vacate our country.

On Friday, Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni said South Africans have the right to protest and they can march as provided by the Constitution.

"There will never be another shutdown of this country, there will never be another destabilisation of this country," she said.
