Ad hoc committee probing Mkhwanazi allegations meets again

JOHANNESBURG - The Parliamentary Ad Hoc Committee to probe corruption allegations within SAPS is expected to meet again to finalise its terms of reference.

The ongoing delays have already sparked concern from the Democratic Alliance, saying this threatens the entire process.

The inquiry will investigate claims by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi that criminal syndicates have infiltrated the police and the justice system.

His allegations include interference in corruption probes and the disbanding of the Political Killings Task Team.

The Committee has until October to deliver its report to Parliament.
