AfriForum ready to take on e-toll debt case

JOHANNESBURG - E-tolls may be no more but the government still has the tricky detail of historic debt to deal with. 

While the Transport Department is yet to clarify how this will be recovered, any legal action against individual citizens will be met in court. So says rights organisation Afriforum. 

The group say they will legally back the first motorist who approaches them for assistance.

E-tolls have been a feature of Gauteng national highways since around 2010. 

They were official switched off on Friday midnight.
