Pressure is being put on on the president to act, following claims by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
The commissioner has publicly accused high-ranking officials, including Police Minister Senzo Mchunu, of deep-rooted corruption.
He alleges that Mchunu has interfered in police investigations and enabled criminal activity.
