BLOEMFONTEIN - The ANC’s National Executive and Working Committees are visiting the Free State this weekend.
This has triggered speculation the province might face a reconfigured PEC, like in KZN and Gauteng.
As part of its deep introspection triggered by last year's electoral decline, the ANC continues to take a closer look at branches across the country.

National officials are deployed in the province's regions, ahead of a bigger meeting on Monday with the Provincial Executive Committee.
In January, the party's president Cyril Ramaphosa said the ANC needs to introspect and rebuild.
ANC Free State Provincial Secretary, Polediso Motsoeneng, says the visit is part of the efforts to strengthen structures.
