Battle over Madiba items up for auction

JOHANNESBURG - Around 100 items belonging to the estate of former President Nelson Mandela will be up for auction next month.

But not if the the SA Heritage Resources Agency has anything to say about it.

Sahra is appealing a court ruling allowing the sale.

The court found not all objects can be considered heritage items in terms of the Heritage Act.

Madiba's daughter, Makaziwe, wants to use the money to fund a memorial garden in the Eastern Cape.
