MFAZAZANA - The body of a 37-year-old man who went missing off the coast of Mfazazana has been recovered.
This comes days after he was believed to have been involved in a shark incident.
According to the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) Station 20, located at Shelly Beach, the man went missing on Friday.
The man was fishing near a school of sardines with two other local fishermen.
It is reported that a shark surfaced in the area where the man was fishing, after which he went underwater and did not resurface.
One of his companions attempted to help but was reportedly confronted by at least two sharks and retreated to the shoreline.

Search operations began on Friday, led by the police's K9 Search and Rescue Unit and the Water Policing and Diving Services (WPDS).
The search continued the next day with assistance from NSRI Shelly Beach.
On Sunday, during ongoing search and recovery efforts, police divers located and recovered a body believed to be that of the missing man.
The body showed signs of obvious shark wounds, which are currently under investigation.
The deceased has been taken into the care of the Police and Government Health Forensic Pathology Services.
Formal identification is underway, and police have opened an inquest docket.
