Cele says combined effort will fight zama zamas

JOHANNESBURG - Police Minister and ANC NEC member Bheki Cele says various departments are combining their efforts against zama zamas.

Cele has been speaking on the sidelines of the ANC NEC meeting that is expected to wrap on Monday.

The party’s highest body structure has been discussing several issues affecting the public. Cele says the president will soon be addressing on the integrated approach to zama zamas.

He said, "we have finalised the structure that will be led by the police, defence, home affairs and state security to deal with zama zamas… We have moved up to the medium level."

"We have got nine people that have been arrested who are middle class of some form… You can see these are big guys."

"The SIU has already attached 51 of their cars and seven houses.”
