A cold front is expected to make landfall in the Northern Cape town bringing with it snow and windy conditions in areas like Calvinia, de Aar and Victoria West.
One resident of the area said, "I work at Sutherland, I am a resident here, I work on the wind farm, it was very cold, June, July it is very cold, the pumps freeze, it gets so cold, if you live in a shack you won't believe how cold it is."
"I feel sorry for people who live in shacks, so I ask if there is maybe help for people who live in shacks, for blankets or Gifts of the Givers to come assist these people."
