Communities lament broken relationship with police

EASTERN CAPE - A decline in murders across the country is not necessarily a reason to celebrate. 

That's the view of residents of the Eastern Cape, who say a lack of trust between them and the police, is a major stumbling block to crime-fighting.

The province has the third highest murder rate in the country, accounting for 18.9 percent of the national number.
