Competition Commission to rule on sports broadcast rights

JOHANNESBURG - Sports Minister Zizi Kodwa is hopeful that a ruling from the Competition Commission on the impasse on sports rights between the SABC and Multichoice will bring closure to the matter.

The public broadcaster has filed a complaint against Multichoice for anti competitive behaviour for having acquired Rugby World Cup rights not only for pay television but for free-to-air as well.
