Crime in SA | One suspect dead, as police foil cash-in-transit attack

RANDFONTEIN - One cash-in-transit heist suspect has been killed and two others arrested,

after a shootout with police in Randfontein Monday morning.

An officer is recovering in hospital after being shot in the arm.

Police say they foiled an attempt to attack a truck transporting gold.

The police have also confirmed that a parolee is one of the suspects arrested while five others are on the run.

The gunmen had been monitoring a truck transporting gold from a plant to an undisclosed location, and planned to attack it using several vehicles.
