Detained South Africans in Israel prison are in good health - DIRCO

JOHANNESBURG - The International Relations Department says the South Africans that Israeli forces detained en route to Gaza are in good health and good spirits.

A specialist team from the department met with the South Africans, who are being held in a prison facility in southern Israel.

DIRCO says all necessary procedures to get them home safely are going ahead. The Global Sumud Flotilla they were part of was intercepted on Thursday before reaching Gaza. 

Among the South Africans confirmed to have been on board are Mandla Mandela, grandson of former president Nelson Mandela; writer and cultural activist Zukiswa Wanner, and activist Reaaz Moolla.
