Diarrhoea outbreak confirmed at Epping Repatriation Centre

CAPE TOWN - A diarrhoea outbreak has been confirmed at the Home Affairs repatriation centre in Epping, Cape Town.

Health officials said several mild cases were reported on Friday.

Hundreds of foreign nationals continue to gather at the site while waiting for transport to Musina.

Western Cape Health’s Dr Saadiq Kariem confirmed. 

“Yesterday, out of the 1200 people who were at the facility, there were several cases of mild diarrhoea; 14 of those patients required oral rehydration therapy,” Kariem said.
