KuGompo City – Party squabbles have resulted in the ANC’s Eastern Cape provincial conference being postponed indefinitely.
The party was meant to have its Eastern Cape provincial elective conference this weekend.
ANC Provincial Secretary Lulama Ngcukaitobi confirmed the postponement in a letter to delegates.
On Friday, party Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula issued a directive that the conference is in abeyance until further notice.
“After due consideration, consultation and a review of the prevailing legal and organisational circumstances, it has been resolved that the Eastern Cape Provincial Conference, which was scheduled to be officially opened on 27 March 2026, shall not convene at this time,” the letter read in part.
