eMedia wins broadcasting case against Multichoice

JOHANNESBURG - The Competition Tribunal has granted eMedia interim relief against Multichoice, Supersport and SABC in relation to the broadcasting of sporting events on television.

Multichoice had sought to enforce a sub-licensing agreement to prevent the SABC from making sporting events available on eMedia channels.

Multichoice is now interdicted from including similar restrictions that prohibit the SABC from transmitting on eMedia's channels.
