Eskom announces blackouts return on Tuesday

JOHANNESBURG - The country's short-lived blackout-free days are over.

Stage 2 power cuts will be implemented from 5am on Tuesday until 4pm.

Stage 3 will then kick in until 5am on Wednesday.

This rotation will continue until further notice.

The power utility says it has had a setback with three generating units not coming back online after maintenance coupled with the loss of six generating units.
