Eskom to implement various stages of power cuts over the weekend

JOHANNESBURG - Eskom will implement stage 3 blackouts from 4pm until 5am on Saturday.

Stage 1 will then be implemented until Saturday afternoon.

These stages are expected to continue throughout the weekend.

The power utility says the delay in the return to service of units at Kusile and Kendal Power Stations led to the current capacity constraints.

However, the utility says units at Camden, Kriel, and Matla power stations have been restored.

Eskom is urging the public to use electricity sparingly.
