Eskom reduces rolling blackouts

JOHANNESBURG - Struggling power supplier Eskom announces a mixed bag of rolling blackouts until Friday, with Stage 3 currently underway until 4pm.

The utility will then escalate outages to Stage 4 till 8pm and then it's back to Stage 5 until 5am Friday morning.

It says this is due to improved generation recovery and emergency reserves.

Eskom initially forecast Stage 5 and 6 power cuts for the week.
