JOHANNESBURG - The family spokesperson of one of the children who died after being operated on by Peter Beale is calling for an appeal judgment.
The pediatric surgeon was acquitted on all charges at the Johannesburg High Court on Tuesday.
Family spokesperson, Sinenhlanhla Mnguni, says they are hoping that the State appeals the judgment.
Mguni says the family hopes a new court would come to a different verdict.
The current verdict argues there were several 'inconsistencies' in the case.
Beale was arrested in 2019 on a culpable homicide charge, but this was later changed to murder and fraud.
He was accused of killing three children he operated on.
The two counts of fraud relate to medical procedures that contributed to the deaths.
