Former Tshwane mayor Murunwa Makwarela dies

PRETORIA - Former Tshwane Mayor Murunwa Makwarale has died.

His family says he died in the early hours of Tuesday morning after a short illness.

Makwarela resigned as mayor after he was found to have submitted a fake insolvency rehabilitation certificate

The city was still trying to recoup over R1.4-million paid to him while he was employed as Speaker.
