Four CIT robbers shot dead by police in KZN

ESTCOURT, KwaZulu-Natal - Four suspected CIT robbers have been shot dead by KwaZulu-Natal police in Estcourt.

The suspects, who were travelling in three cars, forced the armoured vehicle to stop, and then robbed security guards of their guns and money.

Road Traffic Inspectorate officers responded and there was an exchange of fire.

Four robbers were killed and two officers were injured.

An R5 and two AK47 rifles were recovered at the scene, along with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police are hunting for the remaining criminals who escaped the scene.
