Four suspected illegal miners arrested

JOHANNESBURG - Four suspected zama zamas have been arrested in the Eikenhof informal settlement in Johannesburg.

After receiving a tip-off about illegal mining in the area, police pounced on the undocumented foreign nationals.

The SAPS staged the joint operation with JMPD undercover officers, a community policing forum, and private security companies.

 They destroyed two processing plants and confiscated equipment.
