FW de Klerk Foundation accuses Trump of cheap politics, denies land grabs

CAPE TOWN - The FW de Klerk Foundation denounces Donald Trump's claims that white farmers are being targeted in South Africa.

This comes after Trump's citizenship offer to SA white farmers and their families. Despite the absence of any credible evidence, Trump insists that land continues to be confiscated in South Africa.

But the government has come out and denied any allegations of racial discrimination.

Last month, Trump offered refugee status to white Afrikaners who wanted to move to the US. He has now escalated his offer to citizenship for those willing to take up his offer.

Lobby groups, AfriForum and Solidarity visited the US last month and allegedly spoke to Trump's administration to discuss SA's affairs.

These include concerns related to the new Expropriation Act and BELA Act.

Christo van der Rheede, executive at the FW de Klerk Foundation has slammed lobby groups for approaching the US on matters concerning the country.

He says this a setback for South Africa and accuses the groups of spreading misinformation.
