George Building Collapse | Dedication of rescue, volunteer workers lauded

GEORGE - The people of George have celebrated rescue workers and volunteers for their tireless efforts at the site of the fatal building collapse.

More than a thousand disaster officers, support staff and volunteers worked over 260 hours to save lives on Victoria Street.

The consular services of Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi and Lesotho have begun the process of repatriating the bodies of some of the 33 construction workers who died.
