Golden Arrow bus torched in Khayelitsha

CAPE TOWN - A Golden Arrow bus driver has been shot and the vehicle torched in Khayelitsha.

The company is scrambling to accommodate stranded taxi commuters due the strike in the Western Cape.

So far, three Golden Arrow buses have been torched.

Golden Arrow spokesperson Bronwen Dyke-Beyer is pleading for the violence to stop as they need to transport people to work.

Drivers are upset over changes to by-laws that have seen thousands of vehicles impounded.

Meanwhile, Police Minister Bheki Cele emphasised the need for a collaborative strategy to address and resolve the concerns raised by the taxi sector in Cape Town.
