Guns stolen from Mitchells Plain police station in November not yet recovered

JOHANNESBURG - Not a single firearm has been recovered since police confirmed that consignment of fifteen, and eight replicas went missing at the Mitchells Plain police station last November.
This follows a 2017 incident during which fourteen guns were stolen at the same station,
resulting in the dismissal of the station commander.
Community safety MEC Reagan Allen says heads must roll, as firearms contribute to more than 50 percent of murders in the province.
A detective has since been arrested and suspended.
