Heritage Day | Mashatile says understanding indigenous languages breaks down barriers

 

KWAMASHU - Deputy President Paul Mashatile The deputy president says the introduction of indigenous languages in public schools helps learners to understand the different cultures in our society.

Mashatile says this contributes to breaking down of social barriers.

He said, "Increasingly introducing indigenous languages in public schools,.. this aims to foster a great understanding different cultures between learners and break down cultural barriers."

"Sports has been used to foster cohesion, peaceful co-existence and mutual solidarity in our communities… despite the odds several advances have been made regarding the inclusion and support of women in sports, key to this being support for their demand for equal pay for equal value”
