JOHANNESBURG - It’s 15 day to the 2026 FIFA World Cup and Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos is set to announce his 26-man squad later on Thursday.
South Africa return to their first World Cup since hosting the event on the African shores for the first time ever in 2010.
After announcing his 32-men preliminary team last week, Broos is expected to name the final travelling team.
The team are also set to be hosted by President Cyril Ramaphosa in a send-off dinner at the Sefako M. Makgatho Presidential Guesthouse in Pretoria.
The ceremony will also include the announcement of the final 26-man squad by Broos.
Bafana open the tournament with co-hosts, Mexico, in a replay of the 2010 opener, which takes place exactly 16 years later.
