Hundreds left stranded in Epping

CAPE TOWN - Hundreds of foreign nationals remain stranded outside the Home Affairs repatriation centre in Epping, Cape Town.

Volunteers said the humanitarian situation is worsening. The Home Affairs offices are no longer being used as a repatriation centre.

Mistopher Ncube, a volunteer, urged authorities to provide more buses to take the remaining migrants home.

“The situation is very bad and they've got small kids who slept outside last night. And yeah, we are still here and you can see more people are still coming. And I think we need buses, you know.

“They just need to go home. They are frustrated now.”
