IFP's Mlungisi Mabaso readies his 10-point plan to fix Joburg

SOWETO - The IFP has tapped Mlungisi Mabaso as its pick for Johannesburg mayor in the November municipal elections.

Mabaso is currently Johannesburg’s MMC for Human Settlements.

The party touts him as the embodiment of ethical, accountable, and effective leadership.

He’ll face political heavyweights like the DA’s Helen Zille and ActionSA’s Herman Mashaba.

Mabaso told delegates gathered at Jabulani in Soweto that he intends to bring order to the City of Johannesburg.

"I am a servant of the people and an IFP volunteer," he said.

Mabaso said his 10-point plan includes a specific focus on economic recovery, visible policing, water, infrastructure, roads, housing, land, finances, smart billing, and the protection of whistleblowers
