VOSLOORUS - Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi said the intelligence community has been brought in to help find Mazwi Kubheka.
The move aims to help find local businessman Mazwi Kubheka, missing for a month.
Kubheka's family is still confident he’ll be found alive.
The twenty-seven-year-old has been missing since the 2nd of April after leaving his spaza shop.
Several civic and political organisations marched to the Vosloorus police station demanding that authorities intensify their investigations.
Lesufi believes they will crack the case.
"I must declare initially, the efforts were not that much. It's only when it was brought to our attention a week or so ago that we felt we needed to unleash the capacity.
"It's not Mazwi alone, he adds on a list of people that are missing. It might be a trend, it may be a syndicate, it may be a pattern. We need to crack the backbone of that syndicate.
"And what we have said is that this case is bigger than the police station. The police station might not have the necessary capacity, the skill, the talent, the resources to break this case. That is why we are bringing in the intelligence community."
Lesufi said he was confident that they would crack the case.
