JOHANNESBURG - Investigations are underway after the Deputy President's official vehicle was shot at.
Mashatile was returning from an ANC NEC meeting in Boksburg when he heard what he thought were stones being thrown at the vehicle.
Mashatile's spokesperson, Keith Khoza, says that due to the vehicle being bulletproof, further investigations had to be done as the windscreen of the vehicle had been damaged in the incident.
No suspects have been identified as yet, as police continue to investigate.
Khoza says they initially kept quiet about the matter as, before investigations began, they did not want to cause any alarm.
Khoza would not be drawn into speculation as to whether foul play was suspected.
He did, however, say that details would be released once the investigations were completed
