Israel-Palestine Conflict | SA invokes genocide convention at world court

JOHANNESBURG - South Africa has applied to the International Court of Justice to begin proceedings over allegations of genocide against Israel for its war against Hamas in Gaza.

South Africa accuses Israel of violating its obligations under the Genocide Convention.

The Israeli government has rejected South Africa's claims and application to the World Court, saying the claim lacks both a factual and a legal basis.

Both South Africa and Israel are parties to the Genocide Convention.
